Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible is composed of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that Scripture in its entirety originated with God, and is perfect and is without error in its original writings. We believe all Scripture is helpful for the Christian’s faith, life, doctrine, and conduct. We believe the New Testament is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each of them possesses equally all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality.

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who was united with a true human nature through the miraculous conception and virgin birth. We believe Jesus Christ lived a perfect life in obedience to the Father, and voluntarily died on the cross for all sin and every sinner. We believe in His miracles, in His resurrection from the grave in the same body in which He was crucified, in His return to the place of authority together with God the Father, and in His personal, bodily return to earth in power and glory.

We believe in the personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit. We believe that He lives in every true believer enabling them by His power to live a godly life. We believe He convicts the world of guilt in regard to sin, and the need to trust Jesus to take away their sin. We believe He makes them alive spiritually when they enter into a personal relationship with Jesus by faith.

We believe that man was created in the image of God. We believe that he fell into sin that resulted in spiritual death and separation from the life he had in God. We believe that ever since Adam all human beings have been born with a nature that is inclined toward sin. We believe that in the case of those who reach moral responsibility they become guilty sinners before God, and unless they are born again they cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith. We believe that the moment one receives Christ as their Savior they are born again individuals. We believe baptism by water is a command of our Lord to be obeyed by the believer, to follow their conversion.

We believe baptism by immersion in water is the next step following conversion.

We believe in the observance of the Lord’s Supper as a memorial of the death of Christ and as a means of growth in grace.

We believe in the Divine Protection of the believer in his personal faith in Christ. We believe that this protection involves the responsibility on the part of the believer to make his calling and election sure by building upon his faith the qualities enumerated in Second Peter 1:5-11, and to persevere in personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the resurrection of the saved unto everlasting life in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the rapture of the living saints at His coming in power and glory, and in resurrection of the unsaved unto everlasting separation from God.

We believe the church is the body of Christ, and as such is a living organism. We believe Jesus Christ alone is Lord and the head of the church. We believe the church is universal, made up of all true believers in heaven and on earth. We believe the church is commanded to fulfill the great commandment to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. We believe that the church is equally commanded to fulfill the great commission given by Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations.
